Taste Pure Nature one year on

A little over a year since the launch of the Taste Pure Nature country of origin brand in California, Beef + Lamb’s GM Market Development, Nick Beeby, is thrilled with the evolution of the programme. At the start a small number of meat exporters were supportive of what Beeby concedes was initially seen as a B+LNZ initiative, but 15 months later success in targeting specific consumer groups and expansion of the scheme into China have brought increased industry commitment. TPN is now viewed positively as a sector-led strategy and the meat exporters have injected huge momentum and drive in support. (more…)

Silver Fern Farms ticks the boxes with Eating Quality System

I confess to a degree of scepticism when I read the press release about the launch of the new Silver Fern Farms retail range of prime beef cuts just launched in New Zealand supermarkets. But my research, admittedly not as comprehensive as I would like, suggests this is a well designed programme which ticks most of the boxes for suppliers, consumers and the company. (more…)

Meat quality in restaurants constantly improving

The quality of domestic red meat supply both to the retail and catering trade has improved out of sight in the last 20 years because of stricter food regulations and the introduction of the Quality Mark.
